We Added an AI Assistant to Our Project Management Tool
5 min read
What if your project management tool could actually understand your project and help you plan, create tasks, and write docs through a simple conversation?
Why We Built This
We kept noticing the same pattern. People would open their project, stare at an empty kanban board, and not know where to start. Or they would have a rough idea in their head but struggle to break it down into actual tasks.
So we thought, what if there was something inside the tool that could just help? Not a separate app. Not a chatbot that gives generic advice. Something that actually knows your project, your tasks, your milestones, and can do things for you.
That is how the AI Assistant started. It lives right inside your project as a side panel. You type what you need in plain English and it just does it.
It Actually Knows Your Project
This is the part that makes it different from just pasting your problem into ChatGPT.
When you open the AI panel inside a project, it already knows the project name, the current stage, how many tasks you have and their statuses, your milestones, your notes, your expenses, your files, and your team members.
So when you ask "what should I work on next?" it does not give you a generic productivity tip. It looks at your actual tasks, checks what is overdue, what is high priority, and gives you a real answer based on your real data.
It Does Not Just Talk. It Acts.
Most AI tools give you text. You read it, then you manually go do the thing yourself. That kind of defeats the purpose.
Our AI actually takes action. You say "create 5 tasks for building user authentication" and it creates 5 real tasks on your kanban board with titles, descriptions, and priorities. You say "delete all completed tasks" and they are gone.
It can create and update tasks, milestones, and notes. It can write design document sections. It can log expenses. It can search across your entire project to find something and then edit or delete it. It can even link notes to tasks.
After it does something, you get a clickable link right in the chat to jump to that section. Created a task? Click "View Kanban" to see it. Wrote a design doc? Click "View Design Doc" to read it.
What You Can Ask It
Just talk to it like you would talk to a teammate.
"Create tasks for the login page."
"What should I focus on this week?"
"Delete all the completed stuff."
"Write a design doc for the API."
"How much have I spent so far?"
It reads your project, does the thing, and shows you where to find it. Simple as that.
Try It Out
You can add it from the billing page or the AI Assistant section in your sidebar. Takes a few seconds.
We are still building on top of this and would love to hear what you think. If something is missing or you have an idea for what the AI should do, drop us a note on the feedback page. We read everything.
